Poem

The Rose Family
The rose is a rose
And was always a rose
But the theory now goes
That the apple’s a rose,
And the pear is, and so’s
The plum, I suppose.
The dear only know
What will next prove a rose?
You, of course, are a rose
But were always a rose
Stars
How pointlessly they congregate
O’er our tumultuous snow
This flows in shapes as tall as trees
When wintry winds do blow!
As if with keenness for our fate,
Our faltering few steps on
To white rest, and a place of rest
Invisible at down
And yet with neither love nor hate,
Those stars like some snow-white
Minerva’s snow-white marble eyes
Without the gift of sight
Winter evening
Evening seems
At first intense blue
Fades through paleness into black.
The farmhouse in the valley
Shines like a lost streetlight, cold
As a dingo howl at midnight
Fire And Ice
Some say the world will and in fire
Some say in Ice
From what I have tested of desire
I hold with those who favor fire
But if it had to parish twice, I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction Ice
Is also great
And would suffice
Sweet May
Sweetest May, let love inspire here
Take a hart, which he desires thee
As thy constant slave regard it
For its faith and truth reward it

Proof o’ shot to beat or money
Not the wealthy, but the bonnie
Not high-born, but noble-minded
In love’s silken band can bind it!

The Star

The Star

When the world started to end, you were ashamed of yourself for weeping bitterly in your bedroom for an entire day. You saw the president crying and begging on TV and it sent you into a panic. You lay in bed with the blankets pulled up to your nose, crying, refusing to answer the door when the maid, your manager, your assistant, and finally your parents begged you to come out.

After twenty-four hours, your father took the door off its hinges and dragged you down the stairs into your sunken living room with the white carpet and leather couches. You kicked and screamed until he had to pick you up and carry you over his shoulder. You called him a motherfucker and threatened to take back the Mercedes you'd purchased for him last Christmas.

Your mother sat solemnly on the couch, her hands clenched into fists on top of the newspaper in her lap. She said it was all over.

You glowered and glared; you asked what the hell is happening, and will you still be on the talk show circuit next month?

The television stations are all color bars and static. Your father says that the talk shows are all gone, and not to worry. He tells you that there are far more important things happening right now. How can you not worry? You were supposed to debut your new fragrance next month to coincide with the release of your latest album.

Your mother tells you that the album isn't going to happen, and she clenches her fists even tighter than before. You can't believe what she's saying. How can she say that? There will always be an album, and there will always be television. You tell your parents they're idiots, and that this will all blow over in a few days, as soon as they replace that pussy of a president.

Your mother says that the world is ending. They dropped bombs, she says darkly.
There are diseases and radiation poisoning spreading all over the country, your father says.

Not in LA you shout defiantly.

Your mother holds up the newspapers one at a time. WAR is on the cover of each one, along with speculations on the doomed fate of the country, including LA. You feel sick, you're dizzy. You want to know what you did to deserve this, and how anyone could possibly do such a thing before you had a chance to accomplish the things that mean so much to you.

*

Two days later, your mother and father are discussing survival, and filling jugs with water from the tap just in case. Your father is worried about the electricity holding out. You sit in the living room wondering why all the servants quit the day before, and if your assistant is ever going to call you back. The only connection to the outside world is the radio, and it's hard to get real information between the crying and praying on almost every channel. On the pop station, the dj says over and over that it's only a matter of time. Your father tells you to switch to the AM band because they have more sense on AM, goddammit.

You hear reports of death and destruction all over the country, and all you can think is that you hope LA is okay. Even after reports of people dead in their cars, you imagine Rodeo Drive the same as it ever was, untouched by nasty things like war, sickness and death. How could a place a beautiful as Hollywood ever be destroyed? No one messes with LA, you say, and your father won't look you in the eye.

When the electricity goes out that night, your eyes fill with frustrated tears, and you light the scented candles you'd been saving for a special occasion. The radio runs on batteries, but they won't last long. Your father tells you to conserve them, and stop leaving the radio on so much. You tell him to shut up, and that you can afford thousands of batteries. The man on the radio says that much of the east coast is destroyed, along with Detroit and Chicago. He says that the radiation is coming west at an alarming rate, and you wish you had a map so you'd know what that meant. Instead of worrying, you get out that limited edition pink nail polish and give yourself a pedicure. It isn't until you spill the bottle, and nail polish gets all over the carpet that you realize you can't stop crying.

In the morning, your dad tells you that your mother is very sick, and he doesn't feel so well himself. You roll your eyes and tell them to take some pepto, but on the inside, you can't deal with the possibility of them dying and leaving you alone, so you go back to your room and sit in front of the window. Your yard looks the same. There is no death and destruction on your property, but you wonder what's changed outside of your front gates.
< 3 >
In the afternoon, you bring your four gold records and three Grammy awards up to your room so you can look at them. Your finger traces your name on the awards over and over, and you can't comprehend how someone who has accomplished so much in such a short time should be allowed to go through something as horrible as this. You're a star, for God's sake, you deserve better than this.

Your father is calling your name in the hall. He sounds sick. His voice breaks repeatedly, and he's gagging between words. You don't want him to throw up on the carpet in the hall, but you keep your mouth shut. If he does, the cleaning woman will take care of it tomorrow. You pull the blankets up to your chin and close your eyes. Your father's voice sounds farther and farther away now as you clutch the Grammy close to your chest and squeeze your eyes shut.

Tomorrow you'll wake up and things will be better. Tomorrow you'll be on the Tonight Show, and be as charming as ever. Tomorrow your agent will apologize for not calling. Tomorrow you'll still be a star.

Give Indonesia back to me.

Indonesia's future is white geese swimming as they play Ping-Pong on top of the sinking island of Java and taking the hundred million 15-watt globes to the bottom of the sea.

Give

Indonesia

back

to me.

Indonesia's future is a game of Ping-Pong going on all day and all night with a ball shaped like a goose-egg.

Indonesia's future is the island of Java sinking under its population of one hundred million people.

Indonesia's future is 15-watt globes, some white and some black, lightning alternately.

Indonesia's future is two hundred million gaping mouths.

Give

Indonesia

back

to me.

POEM: DEFINITIONS AND elements

POEM: DEFINITIONS AND elements

1. Understanding

Etymologically, the word poem comes from the Greek poises means the creation of meaning. In English, this poem is a synonym for poetry is a close-to-poet and poem. About the poet said, Counter (in Tarigan, 1986:4) explains that the word comes from the Greek poet who means to make or create. In the Greek language itself, the word poet means the person who created through his imagination, the man who is almost like a god or a very fond of the gods. He is a shrewd man, a holy man, who is also a philosopher, statesman, teacher, someone who can guess the truth is hidden.

Shannon Ahmad (in Pradopo, 1993:6) collect the definition of poetry which is generally expressed by the English romantic poets as follows.

(1) Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem suggests is the most beautiful words in the most beautiful arrangement. The poet chose words that are precise and best prepared, for example, a balanced, symmetrical, between one element with another element very closely berhubungannya, and so forth.

(2) Carlyle says that poetry is the thinking that is musical. The poet was thinking of creating a poem that sounds like the melodious music in his poetry, words arranged it so that stand out are a series of melodious sound like the music, that is, using the orchestra sound.

(3), Wordsworth had an idea that poetry is an imaginative statement of feelings, IE feelings or Dianemarie directional. As Auden pointed out that poetry was more a statement of mixed feelings.

(4) Danton believes that the poem is actually a human thinking in concrete terms in the language of artistic and emotional and rhythmic. For example, the metaphor, with its images, and arranged artistically (neg harmony, symmetry, precise choice of words, etc.), and its language with feeling, as well as rhythmic as the music (turn the sound of his words Bertram regular succession ).

(5) Shelley argued that poetry is recording the seconds of the most beautiful in life. For example, events that are very impressive and generate a strong emotion such as happiness, excitement is mounting, romance, and even grief for the death of a very beloved. Everything is the seconds of the most beautiful to be recorded.

From the above definitions is as if there are differences of thought, but still there is a red thread. Shannon Ahmad (in Prado, 1993:7) concluded that there is the sense of poetry in the lines of the poem is really great. Elements that form of emotion, imaginary, thoughts, ideas, tone, rhythm, sensory impressions, the composition of words, word figuratively, density, and mixed feelings.

2. Elements of Poetry

Here are some opinions about the elements of poetry.

(1) Richards (in Tarigan, 1986) says that the elements of poetry consisting of (a) the nature of poetry that melioration themes (sense), feeling (feeling), mandate (Intention), tone (tone), and (2) the method of poetry include diction, imagery, real words, figure of speech, rhythm and rhyme.

(2) Walloon (1987) who said that in poetry there is a physical structure or structures referred to as the inner structure of language and poetry in the form of inner expression of the author.

(3) Altenberg and Lewis (in Badrun, 1989:6), although it does not state clearly on the elements of poetry, but the outline of their book can be seen there (1) the nature of poetry, (2) language poetry: diction, imajeri, figurative language, rhetorical, (3) forms: sound values, verification, shape, and meaning, (4) Contents: narrative, emotions, and themes.

(4) Dick Hartford (in Walkout, 1987:27) mention an important element in poetry, namely thematic or semantic elements of poetry and syntactical elements of poetry. Thematic elements of poetry is more pointed toward the inner structure of poetry, syntax elements pointing to the physical structure of the poem.

(5) Meyer mentions the elements of poetry include (1) diction, (2) imagery, (3) figurative language, (4) symbol, (5) noise, (6) rhythm, (7) forms (Bad run, 1989:6) .

Of the few opinions on the above, it can be concluded that the elements of poetry include (1) theme, (2) tone, (3) taste, (4) mandate, (5) diction, (6) images, (7) figurative language, (8) concrete words, (9) rhythm and rhyme. The elements of this poem, in the opinion Walkout Richards and can be separated into two structures, namely the inner structure of the poem (the theme, tone, taste, and the mandate) and the physical structure of poetry (diction, imagery, figurative language, concrete words, rhythm and rhyme ). Djojosuroto (2004:35) describes as follows.

Figure 1. Poetry as a structure

Based on the opinion of Richards, Siswanto and Roekhan (1991:55-65) describes the elements of poetry as follows.

2.1 Physical Structure of Poetry

The physical structure of the poem is described as follows.

(1) appearance of a poem (typography), a form of poetry, such as pages that are not filled with the words, the edge of the right-left, setting its own line, until the lines of poetry that does not always begin with a capital letter and ends with a dot. Those things will determine the meaning of the poem.

(2) Diction, namely the selection of words by the poet in his poetry. Because poetry is a form of literature that few words can reveal a lot of things, then his words should be chosen as carefully as possible. The selection of words in the poem is closely related to the meaning, harmony sounds, and word order. Geoffrey (in Walkout, 19987:68-69) explained that the language of poetry has 9 (nine) aspect of deviation, ie deviation of the lexical, semantic deviation, deviation phonological, syntactical aberrations, the use of dialect, the use of register (specified by a variety of language groups and certain professions ), deviation of historical (the use of ancient words), and deviations graphologist (use of capital to the point)

(3) The image, namely the composition of a word or words that can express the sensory experience, like sight, hearing, and feeling. Images can be divided into three, namely the sound image (audit if), visual images (visual), and images of felt or touch (tactile images). Images can lead to the reader as if he will see, Ermengarde, and felt like what was experienced by the poet.

(4) concrete words, ie words that can be captured with a possible appearance of sensory images. These words are associated with metaphor or symbol. E concrete word "snow: symbolizing the ice of love, the emptiness of life, etc.., Whereas concrete words" swamp "could symbolize the dirty place, a place to live, earth, life, etc..

(5) figurative language, namely Berkie language that can bring / increase the effects and cause certain connotations (Soedjito, 1986:128). Figurative language poems into prismatic cause, meaning that emit a lot of rich meaning or significance (Walkout, 1987:83). Figurative language is also called figure of speech. Adapaun kind of figure of speech-amcam include metaphor, simile, personification, Litotes, irony, sinekdoke, euphemisms, repetition, anaphora, redundancy, antithesis, alusio, climax, anticlimax, satire, pars pro toto, totem pro parte, to the paradox.

(6) diversification, that is concerning rhyme, rhythm, and metrum. Rima is rhyme in poetry, both in the beginning, middle and end of lines of poetry. Rima include (1) onomatope (imitation of sounds, eg / ng / which gives a magical effect on poetry Sutadji CB), (2) forms of internal patterns of sound (alliteration, assonance, the final equation, equation of initial, intermittent rhyme, rhymes beaked, rhymes full, the repetition sounds [said], etc. [Waluyo, 187:92]), and (3) repetition of words / phrases. Ritma a low height, short length, lack of sound hardware. Ritma very prominent in poetry readings.

2.2 Inner Structure of Poetry

The inner structure of the poem will be explained as follows.

(1) The theme / meaning (sense); medium of poetry is language. Level is the relationship of sign language with meaning, the poem should be meaningful, both the meaning of each word, line, stanza, and the overall meaning.

(2) Pain (feeling), the poet attitude toward the subject matter contained in the poem. Disclosure of the theme and taste is closely related to social background and psychology of poets, such as educational background, religion, sex, social class, position in society, age, sociological and psychological experience, and knowledge. Depth of disclosure and accuracy in addressing the theme of an issue does not depend on the ability penyairmemilih words, rhymes, styles, and forms of poetry alone, but more dependent on the insight, knowledge, experience and personality are shaped by sociological and psychological background.

(3) Tone (Tone), the poet attitude toward his readers. Nada is also related to the theme and flavor. Poets can submit a theme with a patronizing tone, dictate, in cooperation with the reader to solve the problem, simply leave the matter to the reader, with a tone of arrogant, stupid and low regard readers, etc..

(4) Mandate / objectives / purpose (itention); consciously or not, there is a goal that encourages poets to create poetry. That goal can be sought before the poet creates a poem, and can be found in his poetry.

New Poet Poetry

New Poet Poetry: Aesthetic Concept, Orientation and structure
By: Rachmat Djoko Pradopo, Prof., Dr.
Articles in the Journal of Humanities Volume XIII, No. 1 / 2001
Abstract:
New Poet Poetry is the beginning of modern Indonesian poetry. To understand the modern Indonesian poetry and poetry after Indonesia as a whole, the study is important new poet poetry. This is due to works of literature, including poetry, not born in a cultural vacuum (Teeuw, 1980:11), including works of literature. In addition, literature was a response (answer) to the previous literature (Riffaterre via Teeuw, 1983:65).

Literary works, including poetry, poets created. Poets as a member of society is inseparable from society-cultural background and the historical society. Likewise, the new poet poet can not be separated from society-cultural background and the historical nation of Indonesia. New Poet Poetry (1920-1942) was born and developed at the time of the Indonesian nation demanding independence from Dutch colonialism. Therefore, it should be researched form of struggle, in addition to a form of social-cultural background.

To understand the poem in depth, as well as new poet poetry, should be investigated scientifically whole poem, both aesthetic and content structure contained therein. However, until now no studies that completely new poet poetry, systematic, and profound. Nature of existing research is impressionistic, namely the review only on the basics, without a detailed analysis, and also described briefly.

Poetry is a complex structure. Therefore, the new poet poetry study used structural semiotic theory and method. Literature is meaningful full structure and complex, there is a strong correlation between elements (coherent). Each element has a meaning of literary works in conjunction with other elements in it and the whole structure (Hawkes, 1978: 17-18). However, pure structuralism is only limited to the structure in the (inner structure) was alienating the relevance of literary historicity and social culture (Teeuw, 1983: 61). Therefore, in order to understand poetry very well and to get a fuller sense, the poem used to analyze the dynamic structuralism (Teeuw, 1983: 62), namely the structural analysis within the framework of semiotics. Literary work as a sign tied to the conventions of the society. Therefore, literature is inseparable from the history and background fabric of social culture that produced it, as has been decomposed above.

In addition, to understand the structure of the new poet poetry, have also previously known about the structure of poetry, namely Malays long poem by poem poet who responded to the New.

Have Nice Dream

I dream that you are a symbol of kindness between you and my past I had left, but ... These days you also have left me sitting alone, you leave me grieve with panting breath, my wings have been injured so I could not reach the heavens a beautiful flying ....!!!!!!!!!

I Love You Forever

Mother and Father
Formerly there was in the hearts forever
Formerly there in spirit forever
In memory of former forever
Long ago and far
There will forever
Will present forever
And will never forget
The name of the first and
Until now been engraved
In the deepest heart of hearts
And My dad My mom
You are is the best
I LOVE YOU FOREVER

Treason

Treason
Pure white love
How was inked paper
Tarnished by a treason
Hearts are already adrift in a liver
Now shattered like a piece of
Links to other souls turned hearts
Make love stained
If another heart in between
Two hearts adrift
And love will be destroyed
Love that look after holiness
Now tainted by the presence of a new love
Lovers who adore-poms
Liver disorder has now moved
Now no longer the love that I craved
Everything was destroyed .........
Dreams that wake me during this
Now destroyed by a
Treason .................

WANT IN LOVE

WANT IN LOVE

Acts of love that I feel very abused me

Hearts that loved him too much, making me miserable

Now I realize there is no love in my heart again

Now it's over

I let love in my heart is missing

I let my love go with My idea

Sometimes I think love not lasting forever

Because I have to prove it

Maybe I was too in love with her first

But now it's all gone

Let him let my love

But maybe he did not know

So in her feeling

Now is not there anymore

Now let him feel the love that other

And I will be looking for love

Truly from the heart

Because now I do not want to love too deeply

I let my love for him right away and destroyed

Because I do not want to love again

But I want in love
